PODCAST REVIEW: California True Crime

There are a lot of interesting facts about California. It is the Grizzly Bear State. California also happens to have the world’s 8th largest economy. Did you know that it is also home to the world’s largest and tallest tree? I didn’t either, but now I do (its name is Methuselah). Another
fun fact I have learned about California is that it is home to some horrifying crimes. This is what I have learned from California True Crime. We highly recommend this as one of the best true crime podcasts.

The trio of Sean, Charles, and Jessica have put together a great True Crime narrative podcast.
If you can’t tell by the title, this podcast only features crimes in the Golden State. Given the size
and history of California, there is no limit to potential content. What separates themselves from
other podcasts (besides CA TC), is the trio’s ability to tell a story. Unlike other true crime
podcasts that focus on their own brand, this podcast thoroughly focuses on the case with a
deep researched foundation.

The podcast began by covering different crimes across the state with the primary focus on
homicides about an episode each. More recently, California True Crime has been covering the
case of Steven Stayner, a kidnapped child. This is one of the, if not, most researched case I
have ever heard for a podcast (13 episodes!). I also was not familiar with this case and was
immediately drawn—compared to another famous case covered by other podcasts.

Whether you live in the Golden State or not, you will find California True Crime a great addition to your weekly listens. I never knew a state with so much sun could be so dangerous and
terrifying. I guess we will have to see what is in store for Florida next…
