A show that combines the world of true crime and crazy musicians – what could be better? We all know there are stories of debauchery from some of the most important bands to exist like the Rolling Stones and even Tupuc and Biggie. Disgraceland is a look at stories of famous musicians and the crimes that surround them. As a music buff, it’s almost like a Behind the Music episode, just about heinous acts and crazy stories.

Disgraceland premiered early 2018 and immediately gained a cult following. Host Jake Brennan has a true passion for music history and a great voice for a podcast. His storytelling skills aren’t too shabby either. Brennan adds his own opinion oftentimes as if he is telling these stories over a drink with you.

The podcast spans musicians from Jerry Lee Louis and Sid Vicious to Biggie and Tupac. And even sprinkles in some Norwegian black metal. Disgraceland hit big in 2018 and is poised to continue its popularity in 2019. This was easily a top 5 new show of the year for me. The production is stellar, and the content is interesting. There’s no questioning why this jumped so high in the rankings as soon as it premiered.
