Up & Vanished

Post Serial: One of the original Bad Boys

If you are looking for a podcast that has one of the most drastic impacts on society to date, then Up & Vanished is for you. Without revealing much of what you will uncover, this podcast will change everything you thought you knew about True Crime. My review will primarily cover the Season 1 case of Tara Grinstead. Up & Vanished was the third True Crime podcast I started listening to a few years back and it made lasting impressions.

Host Payne Lindsey of film background morphs himself into an investigative reporter to dive deeper into the world of an unsolved missing person case in Ocilla Georgia. High School Teacher and former high school cheerleader Tara Grinstead went missing in October of 2005 and has haunted the town of Ocilla since. Payne does a great job of bringing the listener into the setting of Ocilla. After a few interviews with local town goers and members of his family, you will feel like you are a local of Ocilla yourself.

Up and Vanished conquered the balance of host commentary and subject matter expert commentary. He is often joined by a private investigator and they quickly become partners in exploring the case. The production and research put into every episode will have you binge listening until you hear the groundbreaking discovery that is made in Season 1. Much like your favorite TV show will keep your attention Up and Vanished will blow you away with what you thought could be accomplished through the medium of podcasting.
